I mean this isn't like banning people based off of race,gender, age, or sexual orientation. This is keeping sickly people who pose a threat to others out. I'm all for it

. If it comes down to a person with aids and a perfectly healthy person, which one do you want to be a US citizen?

On the real though, my aunt and little cousin can't come over to the States because my uncle has a minor criminal offense from a bar fight THIRTY YEARS AGO... My aunt waited 14 years for a reply from immigration...

And now to hear that people who can spread a lethal std are being allowed in the US just pisses me off... (And I'm sure a lot of them are irresponsible about it... not making a generalization, just saying that if you have the disease, it shows how responsible you are about protection and therefore I question their responsibility in this country)

well i wanna correct myself, my aunt and cousin can come over, but my uncle cannot... But theres no way they want to leave the country without my uncle. Immigration say they banned him from the states because he never stated he was a "criminal" from all the times he had traveled over to visit us... the "crime" was soo small he didnt even think it labeled him a criminal. The judge from court even had told him that the misdemeanor would have been thrown out after 10 years cuz it was just a bar fight.
But you know... the goverrnment is fucking stupid. My uncle is a great cook, wants to start a restaurant here.. But i guess our gov. wants more disease infested animals in our country rather than people with actual skills that can help benefit society

The argument posed is an interesting one. My aunt and uncle both have aids and have for some time. Before finding this out, I had made a statement to the effect of " Why don't we just send them all to an island somewhere to live with each other?" Granted.. i was very young when i made such an ignorant suggestion. Regardless of whether or not this idea is good or bad, I don't feel preventing immigrants with AIDS will do anything to prevent the spread of the disease. With the vast amount of infected citizens as it stands, education, awareness, and protection and safety on a personal level are bar none the only civil/humane solutions to the epidemic. (excluding a cure or vaccination)
